A word to all businesses

lokalreport.at wants to make restaurants and bars visible – restaurants, inns, cafés, bars, clubs, wine taverns and wine bars. We compile entries and logos with care, partly automatically. Mistakes can happen in the process.

If something is wrong, out of date or not shown the way you would like, there is no intent behind it. We only want the best for everyone who cooks, hosts and serves.

Being listed in the directories is free of charge. There is no financial interest whatsoever behind the entries and logos.

You can have your entry and/or your logo corrected or removed at any time – free of charge and without giving reasons. A short message to office@lokalreport.at is enough and we will take care of it promptly.

We process personal data only as far as necessary to operate this website, on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).

Controller

Ing. Philipp Caha, Ferdinand-Platzer-Gasse 3/2/24, 1210 Wien, Österreich. E-mail: office@lokalreport.at

Visiting the website

When you visit the website, the web server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system. This data serves secure operation and troubleshooting and is stored briefly in log files (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The website is hosted by: Keyweb, DE, Erfurt.

Visitor statistics

To see which pages are read, we count page views on our own server, without cookies and without external services. We store the time, the page viewed, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, language, the country derived from the IP address, and the IP address itself.

The full IP address is shortened after 7 days at the latest (e.g. 84.115.23.0) and can then no longer be linked to a person; entries are deleted after 400 days at the latest. The country is determined on our server with a country database (DB-IP); the IP address is not passed on for this. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website and operating it securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

This website only uses cookies that are necessary for it to work or that store your settings. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking across other websites.

CookiePurposeDuration
wr_consentYour choice in the cookie notice (all content or necessary only)1 year
wr_langchosen language (German/English)1 year
wr_themelight or dark mode1 year
wr_scalechosen font size1 year
wr_viewlist display (tiles, list, lines)1 year
wr_merkliste, wr_verlaufnot a cookie but storage in your browser (localStorage): your saved list and recently viewed entries. This data only leaves your browser when you download the saved list as a PDF or send it by e-mail.until you delete it
ci_sessionsession: shopping cart, protection of forms against abuse, sign-in to the editorial areauntil the browser is closed, at most 2 hours without activity

Content from other websites

We embed some photos of places and organisers directly from their websites if they have agreed. Your browser then loads such an image from that business’s server, which learns your IP address. This only happens if you chose “All content” in the cookie notice (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); otherwise you see an illustration.

The map in the directory comes from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, Cambridge, United Kingdom). Map images are only loaded when you click “Map”; your IP address is then transmitted to OpenStreetMap’s servers.

The form “New entry” for businesses is protected against spam by Google reCAPTCHA v3 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When this form is opened, data such as IP address, browser details and behaviour on the page are sent to Google, including to the USA; Google sets its own cookies for this. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protection against automated entries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The same applies when you send your saved list by e-mail: reCAPTCHA is only loaded once you click “Send by e-mail” there. We use the e-mail address you enter only for this one message and do not store it. Likewise for a restaurant's booking and order forms and the application for a regular customer code: reCAPTCHA is only loaded once you choose a time or enter your details. reCAPTCHA is not loaded on any other page.

On the page “Near me” your browser asks whether it may share your location. If you agree, the location, rounded to about 100 metres, is sent once to our server to find businesses nearby; it is not stored. If you enter a town instead, its name is sent to the OpenStreetMap service Nominatim to determine the position. The map on this page loads map images from OpenStreetMap as soon as the search starts.

You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.

Sign-up and monthly magazine

For the sign-up we store your e-mail address, the interests you chose and the language. The sign-up only takes effect when you click the link in the confirmation e-mail. As proof of your consent we store the time of confirmation and the IP address (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message. After that we no longer use the address.

Enquiries

If you write to us via the enquiry form or by e-mail, we process your name, e-mail address and message in order to answer (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once the enquiry is dealt with and no retention obligations apply.

Business listings

In the directory and the events calendar we publish business contact details of places and organisers as they appear publicly on their own websites (legitimate interest in information about restaurants and bars, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Businesses can object to publication or request a correction at any time: office@lokalreport.at.

If we ask a business by e-mail whether we may use photos and details from its website, we store the answer with time and IP address as proof.

Table bookings

When you book a table via lokalreport.at, we process date, time, number of guests, name, telephone number, optionally your e-mail address and your requests in order to make the booking with the restaurant (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The restaurant sees these details and is itself responsible for its part (reception, table allocation). We send the confirmation and cancellation link by e-mail.

To prevent abuse we store the IP address for 30 days and check the form with Google reCAPTCHA (see above). Name, telephone number, e-mail address and requests are deleted 12 months after the booking date; only date and number of guests remain for the restaurant's statistics.

Orders from restaurants and regular customer code

When you order food for pickup or delivery from a restaurant, we process your name, telephone number, optionally your e-mail address, for delivery your address, the dishes ordered and your note in order to pass the order on to the restaurant (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). The restaurant is the contracting party for the food and the payment; you pay there or on delivery. We store the IP address for 30 days to prevent abuse and delete the other details 12 months after the order.

If you apply for a regular customer code, we pass your name, telephone number, e-mail address and message on to the restaurant. If it approves the application, the entry remains stored with the restaurant until the restaurant or you request deletion (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – can be withdrawn at any time with the restaurant or at office@lokalreport.at). Applications that are not approved are deleted after 90 days.

Plans for businesses

When a business books a plan, we process company name, billing address, e-mail address and VAT number for the contract, invoicing and VAT (Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). We check the VAT number via the European Commission's VAT Information Exchange System (VIES). Payment and invoices are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland); businesses enter payment details directly with Stripe. We keep invoicing data for seven years (Section 132 BAO).

Shop

For an order we process name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and the items ordered to carry out the purchase (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We pass the order on to the respective seller (the venue), which delivers.

Payments for items from our own stock are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). You enter payment details directly with Stripe; we do not receive them. We keep invoice data for seven years (§ 132 BAO).

Automatically researched content

Some of the events, directory entries and short articles are compiled from publicly available sources with the help of an AI service (Claude by Anthropic) and checked editorially. No visitor data is transmitted in the process.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Please contact office@lokalreport.at.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

As of October 2026

Terms and conditions

These terms apply to the use of lokalreport.at, to table bookings and food orders with restaurants and to orders in the shop. Businesses with access to the area for businesses are additionally subject to the terms for businesses. In case of doubt the German version applies.

1. Operator and scope

The website is operated by Ing. Philipp Caha, Ferdinand-Platzer-Gasse 3/2/24, 1210 Wien, Österreich, e-mail: office@lokalreport.at.

The terms apply in the version published on this page at the time of the order. Differing terms of customers do not apply.

2. Editorial content, events and directories

Features, news, events, broadcast times and the entries for places are compiled with care, partly with the help of AI and after editorial review. We give no guarantee that they are correct, complete and up to date. Please check dates, opening hours and prices with the business or organiser before a visit.

The operators of linked third-party websites are responsible for their content.

3. Table bookings

lokalreport.at arranges table bookings. The booking is made between you and the restaurant; lokalreport.at is not a contracting party.

Depending on the restaurant, a booking is confirmed immediately or is a request that the restaurant confirms or declines. If you enter an e-mail address, you receive the confirmation and a cancellation link by e-mail.

Bookings via lokalreport.at are free of charge. If you cannot come, please cancel via the link in the e-mail or directly with the restaurant. The stated length of stay is a guideline set by the restaurant; after a reasonable waiting time the restaurant may give the table to other guests.

4. Orders for pickup and delivery

The seller of the food and drinks is the restaurant; lokalreport.at passes the order on and is not a contracting party. Prices, allergen information, delivery area, delivery fee and minimum order are set by the restaurant. All prices are final prices in euros including VAT.

By clicking “Place order” you make a binding offer. The contract is concluded when the restaurant accepts the order; you see this on the order page and – if you entered an e-mail address – by e-mail with the expected time. If the restaurant declines, no contract is concluded.

Payment is made to the restaurant on pickup or on delivery, using the payment methods the restaurant offers. lokalreport.at does not accept payments for orders.

As long as the restaurant has not accepted the order, you can cancel it on the order page; afterwards only by arrangement with the restaurant. There is no right of withdrawal for food and drinks (see right of withdrawal).

The restaurant only hands over alcoholic drinks to persons of the legal minimum age; ID may be requested on handover. If you have allergies or intolerances, please ask the restaurant before ordering.

5. Regular customer code

A restaurant can give you a personal regular customer code. It only serves to let the restaurant recognise you when you order; it is not a means of payment and does not entitle you to discounts. Please do not share it. The restaurant can block or renew the code at any time.

6. Shop: role of lokalreport.at and contracting party

lokalreport.at is a marketplace. The seller of the goods is the business (the venue) named with the product and at checkout. The purchase contract is concluded between you and that business; lokalreport.at passes on the order and is not the seller.

If the cart holds products of several businesses, the order is split into several orders. Each of them is a separate contract with the respective business, with its own payment and shipping details.

7. Shop: ordering and conclusion of contract

The presentation of products is not a binding offer. By clicking the button that places an order with obligation to pay, you make a binding offer. You can check and change all details before sending.

You receive an e-mail confirming receipt of the order. The contract is concluded when the business confirms the order or ships the goods. The contract language is German. The contract text is stored and sent to you by e-mail with the confirmation.

8. Protection of minors

Alcoholic drinks are supplied only to persons who have reached the legal minimum age (wine, beer and sparkling wine from 16, spirits from 18). By ordering you confirm that you have reached this age. The business or the carrier may ask for proof of age on delivery.

9. Prices and shipping costs

All prices are final prices in euros including statutory VAT. Shipping and handling costs are shown per order in the cart and at checkout before the order is sent.

For deliveries to countries outside the European Union, customs duties and charges may apply, which you bear yourself.

10. Payment

The available payment methods are shown per order at checkout. Card and other online payments are processed by the payment provider Stripe, whose terms apply in addition. For payment by invoice or bank transfer the business states the account details in the order confirmation.

11. Delivery

The respective business delivers to the given address in the countries selectable at checkout. The delivery time is stated with the product or in the order confirmation; if none is stated it is 30 days at most.

If a product is no longer available, the business informs you without delay; payments already made are refunded.

12. Right of withdrawal

Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. Details are given in the withdrawal information on this page.

13. Warranty and transport damage

The statutory warranty provisions apply; your contact is the business you bought from. Tartrate crystals and sediment are natural and not a defect.

Please report damaged deliveries to the carrier and the business as soon as possible. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

14. Liability

lokalreport.at is liable for its own fault in cases of intent and gross negligence; for personal injury also in cases of slight negligence. The respective businesses are responsible for fulfilling the purchase contracts and for the information they give about their products. For bookings and orders with restaurants the respective restaurant is responsible, in particular for food and drinks, preparation, allergen information, prices and delivery.

15. Dispute resolution, law and jurisdiction

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If there is a problem, please write to us: office@lokalreport.at.

Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this applies only as far as mandatory provisions of the state of their habitual residence are not restricted. For consumers the statutory places of jurisdiction apply; for businesses the competent court in Vienna has jurisdiction.

As of October 2026

Withdrawal information

Applies to consumers ordering in the shop. The withdrawal is to be addressed to the business you bought from; its name and address are in the order confirmation.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods (of the last goods in case of partial deliveries).

To exercise the right of withdrawal you must inform the seller (the business named in the order confirmation) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement, for example by letter or e-mail. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. You may also send the withdrawal to office@lokalreport.at; we forward it to the business.

To meet the deadline it is sufficient to send the notice before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, the seller must reimburse all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for additional costs arising from your choice of a type of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery offered), without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which the notice of withdrawal was received. The same means of payment as in the original transaction is used for the refund unless expressly agreed otherwise; you will not be charged any fees for the refund.

The seller may withhold the refund until the goods have been received back or until you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.

You must send back or hand over the goods without undue delay and in any event within fourteen days from the day on which you inform the seller of the withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period has expired. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are liable for any loss in value of the goods only if it results from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Exceptions

Among others, there is no right of withdrawal for goods made to your specifications (for example vouchers with a personal dedication), for goods that can spoil quickly, and for alcoholic drinks whose price was agreed when the contract was concluded but which can be delivered after 30 days at the earliest and whose value depends on market fluctuations (for example wines sold en primeur).

Orders from restaurants and table bookings

There is no right of withdrawal for orders of food and drinks for pickup or delivery, because they are foodstuffs that spoil quickly and catering services for a specific time (Section 18 (1) items 4 and 10 FAGG). As long as the restaurant has not accepted the order, you can cancel it.

Table bookings via lokalreport.at are free of charge and can be cancelled at any time.

Model withdrawal form

If you want to withdraw from the contract, please complete this form and send it to the business named in the order confirmation:

I/We hereby withdraw from the contract concluded by me/us for the purchase of the following goods: ……………

Order number: …………… – ordered on: …………… – received on: ……………

Name and address: ……………

Date and signature (only if sent on paper): ……………

As of October 2026

Terms for businesses

These terms apply to restaurants and other businesses listed in the lokalreport.at directory or using access to the area for businesses (lokalreport.at/betrieb). They are addressed to entrepreneurs. In case of doubt the German version applies.

1. Provider

The provider is Ing. Philipp Caha, Ferdinand-Platzer-Gasse 3/2/24, 1210 Wien, Österreich, e-mail: office@lokalreport.at.

2. Directory listing

The directory listing is free of charge – permanently and regardless of the plan. The editors compile listings with care and may shorten, supplement or decline them. Corrections and removal of the listing are possible free of charge at any time.

3. Access and staff

lokalreport.at creates the access to the area for businesses for the owner. The owner can create further accounts for staff and is responsible for their use. Login details must be kept secret; any suspected misuse must be reported to us immediately.

4. Plans

Free: directory listing. Plus: additionally online table bookings with floor plan and overview, and the menu. Pro: additionally orders for pickup and delivery, regular customer codes and sales. The page “For businesses” shows the exact scope.

During the trial period businesses with access receive the Pro plan free of charge. The end of the trial period and the current prices are shown on the page “For businesses”. We inform you by e-mail 30 and 7 days before the end. If no plan is booked by then, the account is switched to the free listing; menu, tables and settings remain stored. If you book during the trial period, payment only starts when it ends.

Voucher codes from lokalreport.at make a plan free of charge for the stated period or reduce its price. Each code can be redeemed only once and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. When a free period ends, the account is switched to the free listing unless a plan has been booked.

Paid plans are paid monthly or annually in advance via the payment service provider Stripe (for example by card or PayPal). Prices are exclusive of VAT. A plan can be cancelled at the end of the respective term.

5. Obligations of the business

The business ensures that its information is correct and up to date, in particular opening hours, holidays, prices (final prices including VAT) and allergen labelling in accordance with the applicable regulations. Dishes that are not available must be marked “not available today” or removed.

Booking requests and orders must be handled promptly. Orders may only be accepted if they can be fulfilled at the promised time. The business alone is responsible for food, drinks, hygiene, protection of minors, price labelling and delivery.

The business may only upload photos, logos and texts if it holds the necessary rights. It grants lokalreport.at the right to use them for the listing and for presentation on lokalreport.at.

6. Contracts with guests

Bookings and orders are concluded between the business and the guest. lokalreport.at only provides the technical platform, is not a contracting party and does not accept payments for orders. No commission is charged for bookings and orders; the conditions agreed there apply to the shop.

7. Guest data

The business receives the guests' details (name, telephone number, e-mail address, delivery address, requests) in order to handle bookings and orders. It may use them only for this purpose – not for advertising unless the guest has consented – and is responsible under data protection law for its own processing. Regular customer data must be deleted at the guest's request.

lokalreport.at deletes contact details from bookings and orders 12 months after the booking date or the order.

8. Availability

We strive for trouble-free operation but cannot guarantee constant availability; we announce maintenance where possible. E-mails may arrive late or be filtered – the overview in the area for businesses is authoritative. The business should remain reachable by phone in case of outages.

9. Liability

lokalreport.at is liable for intent and gross negligence and for personal injury. In cases of slight negligence, liability for lost profit, guests who did not come, consequential damage and data loss is excluded as far as legally permitted.

10. Termination and suspension

The business can have its access deleted at any time. In the event of misuse or serious breaches of these terms we may suspend the access and switch off the business's online bookings or orders.

11. Changes

We notify changes to these terms by e-mail. They are deemed accepted if the business does not object within 30 days; we point out this consequence in the notification. Price changes only apply with express consent.

12. Law and jurisdiction

Austrian law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The place of jurisdiction is the competent court in Vienna.

As of October 2026

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use lokalreport.at. The website follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, and the standard EN 301 549; the basis is the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG).

Compliance status

The website is partially compliant with these requirements. The assessment is based on our own review (self-assessment) of October 2026.

What we have done

The site can be used entirely with the keyboard; a skip link leads straight to the content. Font size and light or dark mode can be set in the header, the site adapts to small screens and works at 200 % zoom.

Headings, lists, tables and forms are marked up for screen readers, and form errors are stated at the field. The banner does not rotate when reduced motion is set in the system.

Content that is not accessible

Photos embedded from the websites of businesses do not always have a meaningful text alternative.

The OpenStreetMap map can be operated with the keyboard only to a limited extent. All entries on the map are also in the list below it.

The automatic rotation of the banner has no separate pause button.

Videos in the banner have no captions and no audio description; they are purely decorative and carry no information.

Texts written or translated with AI are not available in easy-to-read language.

Feedback and contact

Have you met a barrier, or do you need content in another form? Write to us: office@lokalreport.at. We usually reply within two weeks.

Enforcement

If the reply is not satisfactory you can contact the Sozialministeriumservice, the market surveillance authority under the Accessibility Act (sozialministeriumservice.gv.at). In cases of discrimination because of a disability, the conciliation procedure under the Federal Disability Equality Act is also available.

This statement was prepared in October 2026.
